The Palace of Happiness is one of the most impressive buildings from the oil boom of the early 20th century. Murtuza Muxtarov built it as a love and surprise gift for his wife, Lisa. As the story goes, while in Italy during their honeymoon, Liza was astonished by all the beautiful buildings she saw. Especially a palace in Venice took her attention. Murtuza made plans, hired the famous architect I.K Plosko and constructed the palace between 1911-1912. What a surprise it must have been for Lisa when the couple one day took a stroll and stopped by this amazing palace. Murtuza handed her the keys and saying something like -Honey, how do you like our new home?
